Designed for ease of use, responsiveness and ongoing communication with the community.

Richmond Hill launched its brand new website last week, with a design that uses feedback from visitors to help shape the current and future functionality of the website to deliver the most positive user experiences possible.

“We created the new website with your needs in mind,” said Mayor Dave Barrow in a press release following the website’s official launch. “We want to make it easier for you to find what you’re looking for online. We’ve also added new self-service applications and have made it easier to communicate with us.”

Richmond Hill successfully redesigned their website with the help of eSolutionsGroup (eSolutions), a leading digital solutions company with a long history of working with clients in the Public Sector, including more than 300 municipalities across Canada.  

New features of Richmond Hill’s website include:

  • Improved navigation and search
  • Responsive design for compatibility with all screen sizes and mobile devices
  • An interactive events calendar with the ability to subscribe
  • Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) compliance
  • Landing pages that centralize information specific to residents and topics of interest
  • A searchable Parks, Trails and Facilities Directory with more than 200 locations

“Today’s public expectations for readily available online services and information is changing the ways municipalities think about their websites,” says Alison Carden, Principal of eSolutions. “Richmond Hill saw a need for a website that communicates information to online visitors in a way that makes sense to them – using the latest technology and opportunities to collaborate with the public in order to serve their community better.”

The new Richmond Hill website improves user experience with a clean, simple homepage, easier navigation and improved functionality to help users find information they are looking for. The new design also makes it easier for users to communicate with Richmond Hill staff and to complete daily tasks online.
