Cities of Cambridge, Prince George and Pickering win mix of Platinum and Gold honours, signifying achievement in marketing, communications and creativity

Waterloo, ON (November 9, 2017) – Three clients of eSolutionsGroup (eSolutions) have received international recognition as recipients of prestigious 2017 MarCom Awards. The awards were announced on Wednesday, November 1st.

The City of Cambridge won a Platinum Award, the top overall honour in the Digital Media category, for its new municipal Website and App. The Platinum Award recognizes entries deemed to be the most outstanding in their creativity, quality and resourcefulness. The City also brought home a Gold Award for its Cambridge Economic Development Website.

Two other clients brought home MarCom Gold Awards in the Digital Media category. The City of Prince George’s Website and the City of Pickering’s Website were both deemed by the judges to exceed the high standards set by the industry.

“We’re proud to have collaborated with our three clients on these projects,” said Karen Mayfield, President of eSolutionsGroup. “Our clients are making a real difference in the lives of their residents, whether it’s through elements such as the Cambridge City Services App, or through Prince George’s central communication hub, which helped direct evacuees during the summer wildfires in central British Columbia to safe areas in the city in real time.”

Mayfield noted, “These municipalities represent just a few of the 54 percent of all Canadians now receiving their municipal information through a website or app developed by eSolutionsGroup.”

With its City Services App, the City of Cambridge has enabled its residents and visitors to contact the City on 60 different issues anytime and anywhere. The app is centralized on one interactive and intuitive map that residents can visually access through easy-to-recognize graphics, so they can quickly make requests that go directly to City staff for response and action.

The City of Prince George utilized their communications functions to great effect, guiding thousands of people fleeing from neighbouring municipalities to safe emergency shelters and short-term housing. Evacuees could also check on access to services and the status of the wildfires through the site.

The City of Pickering also revamped its citizen engagement with a new i:Create content management system, Pingstreet mobile application, news tool, emergency banner, social media integration, event calendar, and more. Its residents can stay connected through customized eNews alerts on any subject associated with the municipality. This helps citizens, businesses and visitors be a part of a connected, inclusive and sustainable city.

More about the MarCom Awards

The MarCom Awards is an international competition that, since its inception in 2004, has become one of the most respected marketing and communications creative competitions in the world.
