Data Fortress Upgrades to Deliver More Power

6/23/09 - eSolutions is adding an additional diesel-fuelled generator to increase the power capacity of our Data Fortress. The growing trend in data hosting is to consolidate multiple websites on a single server. The result of this is that the same physical space is required to accommodate servers, but more power is needed to reliably support these systems.

Always in step with emerging technology, eSolutions has answered this need by more than doubling our power capacity. The additional diesel-fuelled generator, scheduled to be operational by July 1, 2009, will be capable of running for five full days during a power outage. The generator can be refuelled at any point, which means it could run for weeks supporting the entire Data Fortress, if necessary. The generator will power computer equipment, air conditioning, fire suppression, and security systems in a power loss situation.

eSolutions has made a promise to offer secure, reliable, scalable, continuity services. With this upgrade in power capacity, we are even more confident in our ability to keep that promise.

5/22/09 - eSolutions is pleased to be presenting two sessions at the MISA 2009 Annual Conference:

Create the Conversation - Maximizing Social Media Technologies

Social Media and Web 2.0 technologies, such as Twitter and Tweets, Facebook, YouTube, Wikis, and Blogs, are evolving at the speed of online conversation. What works? What doesn't work? How do you manage multiple channels?

Topics to be covered will include maximizing Social Media to engage key communities and achieve multiple business and marketing objectives. Also, the audience will get practical tips from real-life examples of how to leverage Web 2.0 technologies for results - without creating an IT nightmare.

Going Green - Build a Sustainability Plan that Lasts

New federal and provincial legislation has raised the bar for municipalities and industry.

Doug Smith and Karen Mayfield will discuss how Municipalities can meet these new challenges through an effective Sustainability Plan.

To be successful, sustainability programs must change organizational culture and behaviour, improve environmental performance, and deliver measurable results and benefits - these results also have to be effectively communicated to constituent audiences.

Using real-life case studies and practical tips, the session will allow you to determine your municipality's environmental footprint, design and implement management strategies and action plans to achieve results, attain community buy-in, and create cultural change to build a long-term sustainability plan.

eSolutions is pleased to present the newly re-designed Kingston Economic Development Corporation website

4/02/09 - The Kingston Economic Development Corporation (KEDCO) is responsible for the attraction, expansion, and retention of business, as well as, drawing tourism to the Kingston area. In 2005, eSolutions had the privilege of designing and developing the KEDCO website, incorporating enterprise toolsets to encourage interaction and improve overall management.

After three years, eSolutions was honoured to be contracted again by KEDCO to update the appearance and upgrade the presentation of information within the existing website. eSolutions' graphic design team created a new homepage structure that allows significantly more flexibility in the display and highlighting of information. The team was also commissioned to provide a new look and feel to the website. The bold, fresh design was considerably influenced by KEDCO who wanted a drastic change. The bright colours and black margins give the website a bold, contemporary look and allow greater control of user eye-tracking and information emphasis.
