Operations Manager

eSolutionsGroup (a GHD company) is a multi-disciplinary consulting firm. We specialize in web, brand, communications, marketing and creative strategies. We build and offer customized and out-of-the-box digital solutions for our clients. 

About the job:

We are looking for a seasoned Operations Manager to join our talented, well-established, client-centric team. The position will report directly to senior management and will based out of our Waterloo office.

About you:

You strive for client satisfaction through excellent client engagement and continuous availabilty of critical infrastructure and support systems. You enjoy managing teams and ensuring team members have a clear path to success. You have extensive experience identifying efficiencies and improvements to existing processes. You can lead numerous operational teams to combined success through a positive and engaged presence in their day to day work lives.

As a seasoned manager, you understand how to build and maintain a successful team of cross discipline professionals. You have managed infrastructure, dev ops, and support teams in the past and enjoy creating a seamless integration between them. You are use to having to priotize and rearrange priorities as appropriate to ensure the continued operation of critical systems and processes. You consider automation key to operational sucess. Your technology background allows you to bridge the gap between other areas of the business and your operational teams.

What you'll do:

  • Attract and retain a highly skilled operations team talent that can deliver excellent solutions
  • Provide leadership and technical vision to the operational teams
  • Work with your teams to develop strategy and KPI's for the infrastructure, dev ops, and support teams
  • Coordinate all day to day activities of operational teams
  • Mentor your team members so that they can grow and excel in their individual careers
  • Define and articulate career pathways for operational staff
  • Lead operational initiatives
  • Identify inefficiencies within existing operations teams and formulate action plans to address them
  • Define and report on key metrics and measures to senior management
  • Ensure the continuous development of your team members
  • Manage escalations, delays, and changing priorities within the operational space together with your team leaders
  • With your teams, define roadmaps for continued operational expansion of existing services and more optimized delivery of existing operational elements

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in computer science related field
  • 5+ years' experience managing operational teams for a software focused firm
  • 5+ years' experience leading teams of 10 or more people
  • 5+ years' experience managing infrastructure or support based teams
  • Proven experience combining multiple disciplines into a cohesive high performing team
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience working with remote teams is an asset
